For over 25 years, we’ve been giving our guests one-of-a-kind trips throughout Sonoma and Napa Valley. Join us to see the quaint side of wine country and to explore what it means to take life one mile at a time!

SIP ‘N’ CYCLE

Our most popular Sip ‘n’ Cycle takes you through the quiet and scenic northern Napa Valley, where you cycle along famous vineyards and try world-renowned Napa wines while enjoying stunning valley views. This tour takes in the best of the best in the Napa Valley as we bike to three wineries, all unique in their own way, along the quiet back roads of Calistoga.

We stop in and get a “Grapes 101” along the way, pop in and taste wines, and learn a lot about how to sip, swirl, and taste all the wines. Your guide acts as a chef, wine educator, concierge, confidant, and Sherpa all wrapped up in one. We then prepare a delicious wine country picnic lunch at one of the wineries. All in all, we’ll travel 12 miles along mostly flat roads.

Some of the wineries we may visit include the following: Chateau Montelena, Bennett Lane, Envy, Summers, Lava Vine, August Briggs, Frank Family, Twomey, T Vine, and Clos Pegase, among others.

*Address listed is the meeting spot

Use of hybrid bike and helmet, unlimited water, Wine Country picnic lunch, and professional local guides.

Getaway Adventures is here to share in the wonder that is northern California’s Wine Country. We aim to guide our guests, show them our favorite spots, share local secrets, and make new discoveries. We want them to have fun, relax, learn about wine, take in the beautiful sights, and explore and discover the best of the best in Wine Country. Our hope is that our guests arrive as clients and leave as friends.

We want to create an environment where people can learn through first hand experiences that eco-travel is not only easy, but the best way to travel. We use the word sustainable a lot–we believe it can be applied to any business, and we realized how important it is to focus on the long term well-being of the world that we come into contact with.

3115 Porter Creek Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, USA

Since our founding in 1993, Safari West has become one of the premier wildlife destinations in the United States. Between our expansive wildlife collection and the natural beauty of the woods and rolling hills of Sonoma County, Safari West truly is the closest you can come to Africa without going there. Guests visiting Safari West discover a 400-acre wilderness begging to be explored. With over 900 animals representing 90 different species roaming across some of the largest habitats in the country, there’s a lot to see and do—a truly unique opportunity for a great experience.

For over twenty-five years, Safari West has existed as a place for people to meet the wonder of the wild face-to-face. We have introduced animals large and small to generations of visiting guests, all with the goal of igniting wonder, curiosity, and hopefully, compassion. Our purpose is to inspire wildlife advocates who will help us protect and preserve these beautiful and often endangered creatures.

Safari West welcomes visitors every day in our ongoing pursuit of this commitment . Our dedication to conservation, environmental education, stewardship, and individual responsibility shows in our many ongoing projects and programs. We invite you to join us in this worthy pursuit.

Have you ever gone eye to eye with a Cheetah? Mingle with exotic wildlife? Look a white rhino in the eye? With our Wine Safari adventures, you can experience this plus more. Guests may choose between Cheetahs and Chardonnay, Winos and Rhinos or our traditional private wine safari. Guests can pile into the safari vehicle and pretend they’re in Kenya. No one’s going to tell them otherwise. Especially not the animals!

Go on Safari and explore the Sonoma Serengeti or Spend the Night in a luxury safari tent with wildlife as your neighbor. With our deluxe African tented camp and onsite dining at the Savannah Café, we have everything you need for an inspiring holiday, whether visiting for the day or overnight.

Before you head out on safari or settle into an evening in your luxury tent, join us for a meal at the Savannah Café. When you dine with us, you’re sharing an experience inspired by the legendary South African Braai (pronounced “bry,” in case you were wondering). A mainstay of South African tradition, the braai has expanded to become part of the cultural life of many neighboring nations and now we’re pleased to offer our Sonoma County take on this storied tradition!

While braai can be described as a close cousin of our own American barbecue tradition, it is also much more. It’s an excuse to get together, catch up with some old friends and make a few new ones.

If you are looking for a unique place to celebrate or collaborate with your group, look no further than Safari West!

With options ranging from the open-air patio beside the flamingo lagoons to indoor spaces outfitted with audio/video equipment, we have something for every celebratory or collaborative need!
