Catering in Napa Valley

Ad Hoc

(707) 944-2487

6476 Washington Street, Yountville, California, USA

In September 2006, Chef Thomas Keller opened the doors to Ad Hoc, his casual dining venue for showcasing the American comfort food of his childhood. The name Ad Hoc, literally meaning “for this purpose,” derives from the restaurant’s original purpose: to temporarily fill a space while Chef Keller’s team developed a different restaurant concept. Yet from the first, Ad Hoc was loved by both Napa Valley locals and visitors to the wine country alike, and so this “temporary” restaurant has now joined Chef Keller’s three other Yountville, CA properties as a permanent fixture of Washington Street.

The daily-changing four-course menu, featuring classic American dishes like fried chicken, pot roast and barbeque, is handwritten nightly on chalkboards throughout the restaurant. All courses are served family-style to increase both the conviviality of the Ad Hoc experience and to further recreate the casual comfort of home. The restaurant’s beverage service focuses on the same local producers who can often be found enjoying themselves at the restaurant. While the ability to write a different menu every day provides a significant creative outlet for Ad Hoc’s culinary team they go a step further, frequently offering additional courses as a supplement to the menu showcasing unique or exotic ingredients.

Long Meadow Ranch

(707) 963-4555

1796 Saint Helena Highway, St. Helena, CA 94574, USA

In the late 1800’s, the majestic Long Meadow Ranch property thrived with vineyards, apple orchards, olive groves, hay and a goat milk dairy until farming fell dormant during Prohibition. Over the following years, the property became swallowed by the encroaching forest until the Halls bought the property in 1989.

The Hall family carefully breathed life back into the land, nurturing it back to its glory, and then some, by cutting back the abandoned olive trees and replanting the vineyards and apple orchards as you see them growing today. Home to the Mayacamas Estate, the rugged 650-acre landscape nestled in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains also gave way to a long, sweeping meadow, thus the name Long Meadow Ranch was born.

The Mayacamas Estate crafts world-class wines using sustainable, organic farming practices. Today, growing 16 acres of vineyards in the Mayacamas Mountains to produce estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc.

Our charming outdoor Garden Bar + Café is nestled under a picturesque blue spruce tree at the north end of Farmstead. Each morning, you can grab coffee, pastries, breakfast sandwiches and more during our Café service. Every afternoon and evening, relax in the shade and enjoy our full bar including cocktails, wine, beer and a selection of small plates, all while socially distancing.

At our restaurant, our connection to rugged mountain terrain, mineral-rich riverbed benchland, and the cool coastal air is tangible through the dishes and ambiance carefully curated by the Halls and our artisans. The talents of chefs, farmers, cattle ranchers, winemakers, and restaurant managers create a Napa Valley experience like no other.

We have a great assortment of organic produce direct from our farm, heritage meats, local cheeses, dairy products, and pantry items available for purchase. You can enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables, and heritage eggs, harvested daily from our Rutherford Estate farm, and other delicious items from our favorite local vendors including Fatted Calf, Clif Family and Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company. We also have a selection of beers, spirits, wines and non-alcoholic beverages. Plus, we are baking three kinds of fresh bread each morning, available while supplies last.

PRESS

(707) 967-0550

587 St Helena Hwy, St. Helena, CA 94574, United States

It was a rainy Sunday afternoon in Paris, when six friends in the wine business gathered at L’Ami Louis for lunch. The unassuming style of L’Ami Louis belies the fact that it is a favorite of serious foodies. Although the restaurant prepares few items, every dish is executed simply, but to perfection. After a leisurely lunch, one of the men raised his glass in a toast, “To great wine, great food, and time to enjoy great friends.” This simple wish resonated deeply for Leslie Rudd and provided the inspiration for the creation of PRESS.

And so in the Spring of 2005, with all of Leslie Rudd’s years dedicating his life to the art of food, wine, and people; the memory of that rainy afternoon at L’Ami Louis in Paris; and his passion for the best quality ingredients, the wines of Napa Valley, and authentic artisanal craftsmanship; the vision, creation, and foundation of PRESS Restaurant had begun.

At PRESS, where the guiding principle is clarity, and the food is the purest expression of the finest ingredients, Leslie Rudd envisioned an atmosphere that was warm and inviting, yet understated enough to let the food take center stage. Designed by award-winning Architect Howard Backen, a modern farmhouse-style corrugated frame that blends with the surrounding vineyard was created. Natural light and fresh country air fill the restaurant via custom-built greenhouse paneling, framing the rolling vine-covered hillside beyond. PRESS was developed through a vision of having great food, fine wines, and good times with our family and friends. At PRESS, it is our aspiration to continue to create and share this vision with our guests while highlighting everything that the beautiful Napa Valley has to offer.
