Wineries & Tasting Rooms in Napa Valley

Alpha Omega

(707) 963-9999

1155 Mee Ln, St. Helena, CA 94574, USA

Established in 2006, Alpha Omega’s mission is to create artisanal wines drawing on Old World vineyard handcrafted practices and emphasis on unique terroir driven characteristics that reveal a sense of place combined with New World technology and science.

The winery, located on the Rutherford Bench in the heart of Napa Valley, exudes the utmost experience of hospitality in an authentic place reflective of the Napa Valley farming community. Presenting world-class wines in a convivial setting remains just as paramount to vintners Robin and Michelle Baggett today as when they opened the winery’s doors on July 1, 2006.

Alpha Omega boasts a picturesque setting, highlighted by views of its landmark water fountains and reflecting pond, stunning vineyards and the statuesque Mayacamas Mountains. The breathtaking scenery makes for the perfect backdrop to enjoy the handcrafted wines made with grapes from prized, historic vineyards by talented winemaker Henrik Poulsen and consulting winemakers Jean Hoefliger and Michel Rolland of Bordeaux.

A warm staff of well-trained wine educators, the postcard-worthy setting and the modern farm-style architecture of the winery on Napa Valley’s famous Highway 29, paired with beautiful wines was the intentional vision the Baggetts conceived when they toured the valley in 2005 searching for a property to purchase to open their first winery together. To create an estate comparable to the finest in the valley, the Baggetts took on the project in the same fashion that helped them achieve success in other fields — Robin as an attorney, grape grower and vintner in San Luis Obispo and Michelle as an international hotel interior designer later becoming a hospitality marketing and communication professional and branding whiz. Creating the brand name Alpha Omega in 2005 predestined their ambition to craft the ultimate winery experience from beginning to end. Today, Alpha Omega is honored that its estate is considered one of the top wineries in the region.

SUSTAINABILITY

Alpha Omega, a Napa Green-certified winery and vineyard, is committed to being good stewards of the land and good neighbors. This family-owned winery endeavors to protect the earth for future generations by adhering to sustainable practices now.

Amici Cellars

(707) 967-9560

3130 Old Lawley Toll Road, Calistoga, CA 94515, USA

Our family-owned winery is nestled in the foothills of the Palisades, just outside Calistoga, Napa Valley, where we are dedicated to producing true-to-varietal wines from exceptional vineyard sources.

Working alongside our talented winemaking team led by Tony Biagi and Jesse Fox, together we bring decades of relationships with outstanding growers that, combined with their craftsmanship, result in elegant, balanced, expressive wines made to be enjoyed among friends.

Amici features a private tasting room and lovely grounds shaded by oak trees, where the winery’s owners—John Harris and Bob and Celia Shepard—will welcome visitors. “We’ve never liked the idea of an exclusive ‘closed gate’ winery. We really want people to feel welcome here, to join our ‘circle of amici,’” says Celia.

WINES

From our flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon blend to our portfolio of single-vineyard wines from Napa and Sonoma’s most coveted heritage, hillside and valley vineyards, our wines are made with deep respect for vineyard sources and thoughtful attention to detail. Each year, we aspire to bottle beautiful wines that are accessible for everyday enjoyment and for age-worthy collections.

Artesa

(707) 224-1668

1345 Henry Road, Napa, CA 94558, USA

Over 25 years ago, Spain’s oldest winemaking family ventured to a new world: a sea-facing hillside in the Napa Valley, with rocky soils and a favorable coastal climate. It was here in Carneros that we planted new roots, building upon a 460-year winemaking legacy to create the next generation of estate-grown, artisan wines. We named it Artesa.

Artesa Winery is a study in the harmony of natural and man-made spaces. Designed by renowned Barcelona architect Domingo Triay and built in the early 1990’s, the avant-garde structure was conceived to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

The naturally insulated winery is set into the highest hill of its 350-acre estate, with a protective covering of reserved earth and native grasses. A sweeping staircase set between twin cascades of water and fountains leads to the winery entrance. An expansive terrace offers 360 degree vistas of the surrounding countryside, and on clear days, a view of the San Francisco skyline.

With architecture that captures a series of Mediterranean themes, including water flowing along narrow channels, audible and silent fountains and the interplay of light and shade, Artesa is a reflection of the proud Spanish heritage upon which it was founded.

Every day, we pursue our passion for crafting distinctive wines and sharing them with joy. We invite you to experience a bottle of Artesa and join us in a conversation that’s been unfolding for centuries, in a language everyone can understand.

Our approach to winemaking is inspired by both the old world and new, drawing on time-tested techniques as well as those at the forefront of innovation to create wines that express their unique origin, personality and heritage.

Artesa’s winemaking team is led by Ana Diogo-Draper, Director of Winemaking. Born, raised & educated in Portugal, she moved to California in 2005 to join the team at Rutherford Hill Winery. She joined Artesa Vineyards & Winery in 2013 and was promoted to Director of Winemaking in 2015. Ana describes her approach as born from agriculture, immersed in the European tradition, and passionate about California.

We create our wines one small lot at a time, harvesting, fermenting and aging each lot separately, tailoring artisan practices to allow each parcel to express its individual character. Then we patiently and meticulously compose the final blends to achieve wines that are both elegant and intense, and unmistakably true to their roots.

Core to Ana and Artesa’s philosophy is our commitment to experimentation and innovation. It starts in the vineyard, where a diverse site planted with diverse clones demands micro-farming and a creative approach each season. In the cellar, Ana favors low intervention and wild fermentation, and conducts trials every year to constantly strive to express fruit and site character more effectively. Each year, she and her team make plans to trial new ideas, equipment, and practices in the quest to make better and more interesting wines for you every vintage.

Artesa showcases our incomparable estate with wines and stunning views from our elegant, modern winery on a hilltop overlooking vineyards and the San Pablo bay.

With carefully cultivated wines that bear the unique stamp of the land, enjoy an educational experience led by our knowledgeable hospitality team. Your event will delight your guests and surpass your expectations.

Baldacci Family Vineyards

Established in 1998, the winery is well known for its single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon wines as well as for its friendly and welcoming hospitality.

We invite you to experience these stories (and create your own) in the company of good friends and family.

Beaulieu Vineyard

(707) 257-5749

1960 St Helena Hwy, Rutherford, CA 94573, USA

For more than 100 years, Beaulieu Vineyard has set the benchmark for rich, classic Napa Valley wines. We honor our exceptional fruit with meticulous winemaking processes that reveal the distinctive varietal personality of the grapes.

When André Tchelistcheff joined Beaulieu Vineyard in 1938, he tasted the de Latour family’s private wine – what they called “Private Reserve” – from the 1936 vintage. This Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine was so distinctive that Tchelistcheff insisted it be bottled and sold as the winery’s flagship offering. In 1940, Beaulieu Vineyard released the first vintage of Private Reserve and named it in our founder’s honor. The resulting wine became the first release of Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that was destined to become Napa Valley’s first “cult” Cabernet. In 70+ years since, Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon has become the benchmark of Napa Valley Cabernet as one of the most collected American wines.

Benessere Vineyards

(707) 963-5853

1010 Big Tree Road, St. Helena, CA 94574, USA

We are a small, family-owned boutique winery specializing in Italian varietals made in the heart of Napa Valley, where the soil is supremely suited for growing these types of grapes. Benessere, an Italian word meaning “well-being” or “living the good life”, reflects our dedication to producing Italian varietals and our penchant for providing warm, welcoming hospitality.

The property was purchased in 1994 by John and Ellen Benish and they immediately began restoring the winery, residence and replanting the vineyards. In 1995, they produced their first vintage of Sangiovese and the dream was realized. Since that inaugural vintage, they have added other sought after Italian varietals to their portfolio – Pinot Grigio, Moscato di Canelli, Sagrantino and Aglianico. Additionally, we also produce a “Super Tuscan” style blend called Phenomenon as well as two decidedly delicious Zinfandels – one from our ‘Black Glass Vineyard’ and one from the ‘Collins Holystone Vineyard’ adjacent to our estate.

Steeped in history, this property was originally used as a cattle ranch, then dairy farm in the 1920s and 30s before being converted into a thoroughbred horse ranch in the 1960s – complete with a racetrack at the front of the property. By the mid-70s, the property changed owners and a majority of the property was converted to vineyards. You still see the stall doors from when the original barn was converted into a wine cellar. Prior to any formal ownership of the property, the local Native American tribe used obsidian found on the property to make arrowheads and tools. On occasion, we still manage to find fragments of obsidian, reminding us of days past, in our aptly named ‘Black Glass Vineyard’.

The Benish family chose to name their winery ‘Benessere’ because it embodies everything they fell in love with on a trip to Italy in the late 1980s. “Living the good life” is what they hoped to bring to their little slice of Heaven here in Napa Valley and so ‘Benessere’ conveys those unique qualities of a wine country lifestyle one can only find here.

Black Stallion

(707) 227-3250

4089 Silverado Trail, Napa, California 94558, USA

The name Black Stallion Estate Winery celebrates the property’s rich equestrian history. The estate was once home to the Silverado Horseman’s Center with ambling riding trails, stables and the area’s only indoor arena.

Black Stallion Estate Winery showcases the best of Napa Valley’s diverse winegrowing appellations. We carefully select grapes from a multitude of vineyards, individual vineyard blocks and often rows within a block. By combining the strengths of each lot, vineyard and appellation, our Winemaker crafts world-class wines, brimming with bold, rich flavors and gracious mouthfilling textures. Each wine reflects Napa Valley sophistication, finesse and harmony.

PRIVATE EVENTS

We bring the same passion and thoughtfulness to creating memorable events as we do to crafting unforgettable wines. The Black Stallion Estate offers gracious, unique indoor and outdoor environments suitable for hosting a variety of personal and business occasions. We take care of every detail, with our exquisite meals featuring local, seasonal dishes paired perfectly with our handcrafted wines.

Bouchaine Vineyards

(707) 252-9065

1075 Buchli Station Road, Napa, CA 94559, USA

Bouchaine Vineyards is located on 104 rolling acres in the southernmost part of Napa Valley’s Carneros region. The vineyards include two hilltop terraces which overlook the San Pablo Bay, and rise 200 feet above the surrounding land. On a clear day, the city of San Francisco is visible 40 miles to the south, as are the Bay Area’s two highest peaks: Mount Diablo and Mount Tamalpais.

Rethink what the Napa Valley wine experience is all about. Turn off the highway and discover the real wine country. Enjoy the breathtaking Carneros countryside.

We are a fun and friendly group of people who take pride in making sure all our visitors enjoy their time at Bouchaine. Whether you come to enjoy the fabulous Carneros views, or have an adventure on a tour, or taste our wine directly from the barrel – you are sure to have a unique and memorable experience at Bouchaine.

Bouchaine is the oldest continuously operating winery in the Carneros District – a winery that began making wine long before the region earned its reputation for producing the great Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of Carneros today.

The shallow clay loam soils of Bouchaine are perfectly suited for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

These soils force the vines to dig deep for water, promoting depth and concentration as the roots struggle to penetrate the ribbons of obsidian, quartz, clay and volcanic deposits. Of Bouchaine’s 87 planted acres, 31 are dedicated to Chardonnay, 46 to Pinot Noir, with the remaining 10 devoted to Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Syrah.

Vineyard blocks are planted with different sun exposures and pruning techniques based on topography, to optimize air circulation and ripening. Our high-touch, precision viticulture is managed by an all-female vineyard crew that performs every aspect of the growing process entirely by hand. That includes pruning, positioning shoots, thinning clusters and applying compost, which provides a natural source of rich nutrients for the soil.

CADE

(707) 224-7533

360 Howell Mountain Rd, Angwin, CA 94508, USA

At CADE Estate, we like to call the nuanced, artisanal expression of our wines Modern Howell Mountain – high elevation cabernet sauvignon that articulates the intense, powerful character of our estate while maintaining a balance of mountain fruit, firm acidity and judicious oak for layered, complex wines that reflect approachability and age ability.

At CADE Estate, we believe that winemaking should honor the land, both aesthetically and ecologically. Our philosophy of making luxury wine in harmony with the environment begins in the soil of our estate vineyard where we maintain a painstaking program of natural cultivation – a rewarding program that made us the first organically farmed LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certified estate winery in the Napa Valley.

Gavin Newsom, Gordon Getty and John Conover shared a vision to add a complementary estate vineyard to the valley floor terroir of their Oakville estate at PlumpJack Estate Winery. In 2005, that dream came to fruition in the form of a 54-acre estate, elevated high above the fog line, on the dramatic slopes of Howell Mountain – CADE Estate Winery. Similar to PlumpJack, CADE takes its name from Shakespeare, who used the term to describe wine casks, or cades, shipped from Bordeaux to England during Elizabethan times. With the opportunity to build the winery from the ground up, Newsom, Getty and Conover were committed to constructing a state-of-the-art winery that pays tribute to the land. The building’s striking architecture, a dialogue between gentle contours and strong rectilinear forms, suggests the complexity of our wines– powerful yet nuanced expressions of our mountain terroir.

Make our majestic mountainside estate your next destination for your memory making experience. Our dedicated events team partners with the acclaimed Meadowood Estate Events who crafts custom menus from the local season’s bounty to expertly pair with our full portfolio of wines to offer you an unparalleled food and wine adventure.

Elevate your wine country visit with a private, customizable multi-course food & wine experience expertly paired with our most awarded wines, crafted by Winemaker Danielle Cyrot. Our versatile mountainside estate has a selection of dining locations to offer you an incomparable atmosphere for your special event.

Castello di Amorosa

(707) 967-6272

4045 St Helena Hwy, Calistoga, CA 94515, USA

Castello di Amorosa, the only authentic medieval (13th-century) Italian Tuscan castle and winery built in America, officially lowered its drawbridge for business in April 2007. Castello di Amorosa is nestled in the western hills on 171 acres just minutes south of The Napa Valley town of Calistoga. After several decades of personal adventure visiting and studying medieval castles and wineries throughout Italy and Europe, Dario Sattui, a successful 4th-generation Italian winemaker and entrepreneur, began building Castello di Amorosa in 1994. Over the course of this marathon project, the Castello has evolved to include over 136,000 square feet, including 107 rooms (90 of which are devoted to winemaking and wine storage); an enormous Great Hall with 2-story replica Tuscan frescoes painted by Italian artists and a 500-year old fireplace; 8,000 tons of hand-chiseled stones; 8 levels (4 above ground and 4 below); a drawbridge, dungeon and torture chamber; medieval church; and arguably the single most impressive wine barrel room in the U.S., with ancient Roman cross-vaulted ceilings.

Castello di Amorosa produces classically structured Italian-style wines that reflect California’s unique climate, soil, and growing conditions.

Our philosophy is to make elegant, intensely flavored, and well-balanced wines that showcase the “terroir” of each unique vineyard site. In this way, we can experience the flavor and aromas of the vineyard itself.

We are committed to using traditional approaches to the craft of winegrowing and winemaking, but also incorporate modern techniques and equipment when it improves quality.

It took more than 8,000 tons of hand-chiseled local stone and nearly one million antique bricks imported from Europe to complete the castle. More than 200 containers of old materials and furnishings were shipped over from Europe to decorate the interior. The construction took 15 years and opened to the public on April 7, 2007.

Today, Castello di Amorosa is considered an architectural masterpiece with all the elements of an authentic medieval castle: a moat, drawbridge, five towers, high defensive ramparts, courtyards and loggias, a chapel, stables, an armory, and even a torture chamber. 107 rooms in total, no rooms alike.

Containing some of the most beautiful vaulted wine cellars in the world, Castello di Amorosa has fulfilled Dario’s dream of producing superior quality wines with the same love and attention to detail that went into building his castle.

Wine Education Events at the Castle are executed by our seasoned team with full-service event offerings. From the wine to the cuisine to the décor – we are available to create a bespoke event for you or your clients.

Chateau Montelena Winery

(800) 222-7288

1429 Tubbs Lane, Calistoga, CA 94515, USA

A must for wine lovers seeking excellence, our setting is one of the most peaceful in the Napa Valley – a stone castle constructed in 1888 carved into a hillside overlooking a Chinese garden, lake and vineyards reaching out to the base of Mount Saint Helena.

Old World wine, New World fruit. In 1972, Jim Barrett set out to produce classically-styled wines using sun-ripe California grapes. Continuing that approach to winemaking today, we produce refined, age-worthy, food-friendly wines, and we are fortunate to have a dedicated team of individuals with decades of experience working in our vineyards and handcrafting our wines.

Chateau Montelena Winery, originally called A.L. Tubbs winery after its founder Alfred Tubbs, was constructed in 1888 and intended as a barrel-aging facility. The Chateau was unique in materials, plan, size, and style for its era. In nineteenth-century Napa Valley, the majority of wineries were constructed of wood. Instead, the Chateau is made of stone with walls three to twelve feet thick, which provides natural insulation against outside heat or cold.

Similarly, the structure built into a hillside, to further regulate temperature – something necessary for producing quality wines but uncommon at the time. Also rare among Napa Valley wineries, the Chateau resembles an English Gothic castle gatehouse complete with rusticated stone walls, battlement with crenels and merlons, narrow arched windows, large arched door in the place of a portcullis, and bartizans with faux arrow slits.

Accounts of the stone winery’s designer, masons and source of materials vary. The design has been attributed to Hamden McIntyre, the well-known local winery designer; however, McIntyre relocated to Vina in 1887 where he took charge of the vineyard and winery of Leland Stanford. The building is unlike McIntyre’s other wineries, none of which were designed in a Gothic style. Some sources also suggest that while in Europe, Tubbs hired a French architect to draw plans for the building, brought back French masons to build it, and imported European stone for the walls. Other accounts suggest the design was inspired by the Cellar of Chateau Lafite in France.

Originally, the interior was one large space with a second-story crushing floor, but in 1960, a second-floor apartment was inserted so the Chateau could be used as a home. The space was then converted into our current Tasting room though parts of the private residence remain and are used on occasion today for family guests and private events.

Chimney Rock

(707) 257-2641

5350 Silverado Trail, Napa, California, USA

Our family was fortunate to have the opportunity to acquire the Chimney Rock estate in 2004. The estate was established in 1980 by Hack and Stella Wilson, who brought their love of wine and South African winery architecture to the Napa Valley. Since our acquisition and involvement, we have built on that foundation and advanced the quality of every aspect of the estate and its wines. We have worked hand-in-hand with our team to elevate Chimney Rock to its potential. We have done so by focusing on intelligent and sustainable farming and grape growing led by V.P. of Winemaking, Doug Fletcher, along with a soft-handed and thoughtful approach to winemaking led by Winemaker, Elizabeth Vianna. We strive to allow the unique and magnificent Stags Leap District soil and fruit to show themselves in their best light. Through this thoughtful and sustainable approach, our estate has a reputation for consistently crafting unique wines of exceptional quality that show a true sense of place.

Our vision and mission is to produce wines of exceptional quality that are capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with the great and important wines of the world. We continue to provide Elizabeth and her winemaking team with the vision, resources, and guidance to craft unique wines of this exceptional quality. Join us as our history continues to unfold.

– John Terlato

Visitors to the Chimney Rock estate often complimented us on the beautiful and distinctive architecture of the estate. When the Wilson family established the estate in 1983, they chose Cape Dutch architecture for their buildings and winery. The distinctive gables and bright white stucco exteriors are signature elements of the Cape Dutch-style of the Western Cape of South Africa, found at many of the wineries in the Stellenbosch region, echoing the winemakers’ roots in Holland, Germany, France, and Indonesia. At the Chimney Rock estate, one of the more interesting architectural elements is the massive allegorical frieze of Ganymede, cupbearer to the gods, which decorates the gable of the original barrel room and can be seen from the tasting room courtyard. The inspiration for this frieze came from Groot Constatia, a famous South African winery established in 1685.

We continue to honor the Wilson’s South African architectural legacy by ensuring that all new estate buildings reflect the Cape Dutch style. During the evening, the estate buildings are immediately recognizable along the Silverado Trail, and have long been known as the “brightest light” in the Stags Leap District.

Chimney Rock Winery produces remarkable wine education that are customized to every unique occasion. Our venues and hospitality are an extension of our premier wines and commitment to quality. We encourage you to call upon us to design your special occasions with friends, family, and business colleagues here at the winery. The property offers an array of flexible venues and we delight in tailoring the details of your educational experience. Please note that due to local ordinances, we are unable to host wedding ceremonies and receptions. All private experiences are by prior arrangement.

Clos Du Val

(707) 261-5251

5330 Silverado Trail, Napa, CA 94558, USA

John and Henrietta Goelet founded Clos Du Val in 1972. A descendant of Bordeaux’s famed wine merchant, Barton & Guestier, John had a vision of producing Cabernet Sauvignon that would rival the world’s best. French trained winemaker Bernard Portet was selected to head the search for the perfect property from which to produce these wines. In 1972, two years and five continents later, a parcel in what would become the Stags Leap District in the Napa Valley was chosen to fulfill this lofty dream. Our inaugural wine, the 1972 Clos Du Val Cabernet Sauvignon, was part of the group that topped French wines in the legendary 1976 Judgment of Paris blind tasting. Ten years later, our Cabernet Sauvignon took first place in the Judgment of Paris rematch.

While we are still incredibly focused on the growing and production of the world’s finest wines, history has taught us that the value of what we do is in the connections that wine allows us to create. These connections, between our customers, our vineyards, our wines, our people and our history create a richness of story and purpose that informs and defines the Clos Du Val experience.

Domaine Carneros

(800) 716-2788

1240 Duhig Road, Napa, CA 94559, USA

Domaine Carneros is a singular winery best known as a small grower-producer of méthode traditionelle sparkling wine, Pinot Noir, estate vineyards, and a breathtakingly beautiful château.

Founded by the noble family behind Champagne Taittinger, Claude Taittinger’s search for a worthy U.S. counterpart began in the late 1970s. In 1987 he selected a 138-acre parcel in the heart of Carneros, Napa Valley. Wisely choosing Eileen Crane to oversee the development of the Taittinger style in Carneros. Often referred to as America’s Doyenne of Sparkling Wine, Eileen has spent roughly 40 years in the wine industry, which makes her the most experienced sparkling winemaker in the United States.

The heart of Domaine Carneros has always been our méthode traditionelle sparkling wines, with distinctive styles ranging from the classic vintage-dated Brut cuvee to our luxury Le Rêve Blanc de Blancs. In 1992 we added rich, complex Pinot Noir to our portfolio and our passion for sparkling and still wines continues to grow.

All of our wines proudly hail from the Carneros appellation, and 95% of our fruit comes from our six estate vineyards comprising 400 acres. As anyone who has driven between Napa and Sonoma can tell you, the Domaine Carneros château is a stunning regional landmark. Join us for tableside service on the terrace or in the salon and savor the spirit of the Northern California wine country.

The Domaine Carneros château is a California wine country landmark. Inspired by the classic 18th century Château de la Marquetterie in Champagne, France – home of Champagne Taittinger – the Domaine Carneros château was completed in 1989.

Situated atop a knoll surrounded by estate, the château brings to Carneros the elegant style of the French wine country. With its grand staircase, formal gardens, expansive outdoor terraces, marble-floored fireside salon and breathtaking views of vine-covered hills, it is an incomparably royal setting for savoring fine sparkling and still wines, and for events.

Domaine Carneros Chateau, a striking landmark at the gateway to both Sonoma and Napa counties, offers an array of settings for your memorable event.

Grgich Hills Estate

(707) 963-2784

1829 St Helena Hwy, Rutherford, CA 94573, USA

Miljenko “Mike” Grgich first gained international recognition at the celebrated “Paris Tasting” of 1976. Then, in a now-historic blind tasting, a panel of eminent French judges swirled, sniffed, and sipped an array of the fabled white Burgundies of France and a small sampling of upstart Chardonnays from the Napa Valley. When their scores were tallied, the French judges were shocked: they had chosen the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay, crafted by Mike Grgich, as the finest white wine in the world. Mon Dieu! The results stunned the international wine establishment and immediately earned Mike a reputation as one of the greatest winemakers in the world.

The Paris Tasting served notice to the world that the California wine industry was on the move, and it laid the groundwork for the creation of Grgich Hills Cellar. After his victory in Paris, Mike sat down with Austin Hills and his sister, Mary Lee Strebl, from the Hills Bros. Coffee family, and on Independence Day 1977, they gave birth to Grgich Hills. It was an ideal partnership. Austin owned premium vineyards in Rutherford, in the heart of the Napa Valley, and with his extensive background in business, he put the winery on its financial feet. Mike, with his fierce commitment to making wines of the highest quality, began producing what immediately became our signature wine: the exquisite, richly complex Chardonnays that win awards and delight wine lovers across America and throughout the world.

Let Grgich Hills Estate host your next event! Our beautiful spaces comfortably accommodate groups of 8 to 80 guests inside, and outside up to 250 people. Choose from a variety of experiences, spaces and craft your picturesque event here in wine country.

When choosing Grgich Hills Estate, we provide many options to accommodate your needs. We welcome your guests with a glass of Grgich Hills Estate wine while they savor hors d’oeuvres to relax and mingle in our historic barrel cellar. Or, choose the outdoor patio nestled against our Rutherford vineyard. Following the reception, guests will be delighted and amazed with a wine country inspired multi-course tasting menu showcasing Napa Valley’s top chefs and the freshest, local ingredients.

Judd’s Hill

(707) 255-2332

2332 Silverado Trail, Napa, CA, USA

Judd’s Hill is not your average winery. We are one of the few wineries in the Napa Valley that is still family owned and family run. We value and support our Napa Valley community. We are a family of artists, each of whom has our own artistic expression, whether painting, poetry, or music. We see wine as another artistic expression. We produce many varietals of wine, some are familiar, like Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, and others are a little different, like Grenache and Viognier. We love to entertain our guests in a relaxed setting.
We hope to see you during your next visit to the Napa Valley.

Our History

Having started as garage winemakers in the early 1970s, Judd’s Hill Winery and MicroCrush was founded in 1989 and is owned and operated by two generations of the Finkelstein family. Our motto is, “having a good time making great wine with family”.

We have made wine in The Napa Valley since the 1970s and continue to produce signature wines that are fruit-driven and concentrated while remaining well-balanced and food-friendly. Judd’s Hill was designed and built when the family purchased a 14-acre hillside vineyard in the eastern hills of Napa Valley. We moved to our current facility to increase our opportunities for welcoming guests. Taking an intimate and personal approach to our winemaking, we set out to produce no more than 3,000 cases of wine annually, an amount that allows us to enjoy a hands-on approach to every aspect of wine production. Our first release of Judd’s Hill wine was 1989 Cabernet Sauvignon.

Lewis Cellars

(707) 255-3400

4101 Big Ranch Road, Napa, CA 94558, USA

We are literally hands-on in every aspect of vineyard management, winemaking, sales and distribution, and we thrive on this challenge and the relationships we cultivate in the process. It is our continuing goal to create world-class wines. Our total production is approximately 9,000 cases annually of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

The unique style of our wine begins in the vineyards.
We’re in the vineyards year round, walking the rows during every developmental stage: from pruning to bud break, bloom to set, and veraison to harvest. We learn more every year about each unique vineyard and strive to make better wine as a result.

We source the finest fruit from Calistoga, St. Helena, Rutherford and Oak Knoll for our red varietals. Our Chardonnay comes from Oak Knoll and Russian River Valley. Each site was selected for a specific varietal character, with many of the vineyards being planted exclusively for us. We’ve chosen low vigor rootstocks and a selection of clones to give us balanced vines and modest yields, producing maximum flavors.

Long Meadow Ranch

(707) 963-4555

1796 Saint Helena Highway, St. Helena, CA 94574, USA

In the late 1800’s, the majestic Long Meadow Ranch property thrived with vineyards, apple orchards, olive groves, hay and a goat milk dairy until farming fell dormant during Prohibition. Over the following years, the property became swallowed by the encroaching forest until the Halls bought the property in 1989.

The Hall family carefully breathed life back into the land, nurturing it back to its glory, and then some, by cutting back the abandoned olive trees and replanting the vineyards and apple orchards as you see them growing today. Home to the Mayacamas Estate, the rugged 650-acre landscape nestled in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains also gave way to a long, sweeping meadow, thus the name Long Meadow Ranch was born.

The Mayacamas Estate crafts world-class wines using sustainable, organic farming practices. Today, growing 16 acres of vineyards in the Mayacamas Mountains to produce estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc.

Our charming outdoor Garden Bar + Café is nestled under a picturesque blue spruce tree at the north end of Farmstead. Each morning, you can grab coffee, pastries, breakfast sandwiches and more during our Café service. Every afternoon and evening, relax in the shade and enjoy our full bar including cocktails, wine, beer and a selection of small plates, all while socially distancing.

At our restaurant, our connection to rugged mountain terrain, mineral-rich riverbed benchland, and the cool coastal air is tangible through the dishes and ambiance carefully curated by the Halls and our artisans. The talents of chefs, farmers, cattle ranchers, winemakers, and restaurant managers create a Napa Valley experience like no other.

We have a great assortment of organic produce direct from our farm, heritage meats, local cheeses, dairy products, and pantry items available for purchase. You can enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables, and heritage eggs, harvested daily from our Rutherford Estate farm, and other delicious items from our favorite local vendors including Fatted Calf, Clif Family and Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company. We also have a selection of beers, spirits, wines and non-alcoholic beverages. Plus, we are baking three kinds of fresh bread each morning, available while supplies last.

Regusci Winery

(707) 254-0403

5584 Silverado Trail, Napa, CA 94558, USA

Emigrating to California from Italy more than a hundred years ago, Gaetano Regusci chose Stags Leap to put down roots for his family. Today the fifth generation is being introduced to the ranch he acquired in the 1930s.

Experience Regusci

Visit the oldest family Ranch in Napa Valley’s renowned Stags Leap District. Built before prohibition, our Ranch is home to one of California’s only Ghost Wineries. Come try our limited production Estate wines, explore our gardens and vineyards and experience a taste of turn-of-the-century Napa Valley.

At the end of the day, life at Regusci is about four ideals: Stewardship, Hard Work, Hospitality & Family.

Individual eras come and go, but our connection to the land will always endure.

FDR was president when Gaetano Regusci cashed in his life insurance policy and bought what now comprises the heart of our home ranch, and it’s been in our family ever since. Five generations have been raised here, and Reguscis have worked this piece of the Napa Valley for a century. Our responsibility to this special spot transcends time, and our commitment to the land has always felt bigger than any individual because, in the end, we know that we are simply stewards of this ranch; It was part of our family well before any of us arrived and it will remain part of our history long after we’ve gone.

Farming requires skill, grit, and determination. We have them all.

For generations Reguscis have fixed, built, and raised things from the ground up here and we’re famous for getting stuff done. It’s a hands-on, can-do attitude that has been our way of life for nearly 100 years; it’s all we’ve ever known. To us, working the ranch is a privilege that comes with the family name. It is a responsibility none of us takes lightly, and an honor we all embrace. On a typical day, we rise early and end the day watching the sunset over the valley, while there are a thousand chores and details managed in between. All four seasons come with particular tasks and whether it’s the summer season of entertaining, Fall maintenance in the garden, or Winter pruning in the vineyards, there’s always something happening; and sure, during harvest, it’s a 24/7 operation, but that’s just a tiny slice of the activity on our working ranch.

We only know one way to be: Welcoming.

From the moment you drive through the gates and continue up the long driveway, you’re drawn in by the beauty and timelessness of this place. In every season, guests are greeted by our honor-system farm wagon offering produce from our beautiful and bountiful gardens and we like to think it sets the tone: because when you visit our ranch, you’re family. Our friendly tasting room crew explains, interprets and informs without preaching. In our gardens, we encourage guests to slow down and take a moment to simply admire the majestic views. A visit to our ranch reflects the way we live our lives and the result (we hope) is an experience that is gracious, comfortable, and real.

Five generations. One big family.

Patriarch Gaetano Regusci purchased the parcel that is now the heart of the home ranch in 1932. In the 1960s, Angelo Regusci took over farming from his dad, and fortuitously added vineyards featuring Bordeaux grape varieties to the family’s agricultural pursuits. In 1996 Jim, the youngest son of Angelo and Mary partnered with his dad to introduce winemaking and the rest, as they say, is a work in progress. Jim and Laura Regusci make their home here, along with Jake and Andrew Mendes, Laura’s teenage sons, and James Jr. can often be found in the vineyards accompanied by a dog or two. Jim’s daughter Alicia and her husband Matt Hardin make wine from ranch fruit, and their young sons John and William represent the fifth generation of Reguscis. Jim’s Aunt Isabella still lives in her home on the property and our ranch family extends to include three generations of the Perez family, the Lauritsen family and many others who have grown up here and call it home. Our bonds—with the ranch and with each other—run roots-deep.

Three generations of Reguscis used this rugged, timbered space, originally a hay loft, as a hideaway before it was reimagined as the Regusci Winery Tasting Room in 1998. This single-story stone building, part of the original Occidental Winery compound, reveals its age and production process with evidence of hand cut stone masonry. Positioned directly into the side of the slope, the building is always cool even during summer hot spells making it an ideal location to taste Bordeaux varietals. Today guests can taste current release Estate wines inside the historic building, inside the original cellar or outside on the adjacent patio with picturesque views of the Stags Leap District.

With 160 of our 286 acres planted to vineyards, our views are one of the most talked about features of the ranch. Our expansive outdoor patio is a sun-soaked oasis where guests can enjoy comfortable seating and blissful experiences.

With a culinary garden in full swing, the Farm Fresh Wagon was created to share the beauty and bounty of the ranch with winery guests and locals in the neighborhood, who are always invited to grab a bag (or bring their own) and fill up on a host of seasonal vegetables and fruits grown on property. Everything offered is has been grown using organically approved farming methods.

In 2010, Jim’s wife Laura leveraged her passion for agriculture and expertise in sustainable farming to create a bountiful garden that would create greater biodiversity, launching the farm-to-table culinary pursuits on the Ranch. What began with a single acre patch has since grown to include olive groves, citrus orchards, herbs, cut flowers, a large vegetable patch, grain, and a burgeoning heritage livestock program.

THE VINEYARD

Romeo Vineyards produces elegant and enduring wines from vines forty eight years old which reside south of a nine acre reservoir in Calistoga, California. Our vines lie sandwiched between two forested knolls, leading to the geographical conditions that create hot days and cool nights and an extremely long hang time in our Calistoga vineyard. This allows our grapes to develop full flavors, deep color and intense complexity. Our thick gnarled old vines produce from their hearts.

Round Pond Estate

(707) 302-2575

875 Rutherford Rd, Rutherford, CA 94573, USA

Round Pond Estate, owned and operated today by the second generation of the MacDonnell family, is a highly sought-after and respected ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon producer specializing in the creation of pure, expressive wines, artisan foods and unforgettable experiences—all from the heart of Napa Valley.

The MacDonnell family has been growing premium winegrapes in Napa Valley’s acclaimed Rutherford region for over 40 years. Home to some of the most famous American vineyards, and most coveted Cabernet Sauvignon fruit, Rutherford is widely recognized as one of the great viticultural regions of the world.

Over the years, Round Pond Estate has cultivated a nurturing and sustainable relationship with the estate vineyard, which has made our Cabernet Sauvignon prized by numerous esteemed wineries. Our goal is simple – by remaining true to time-honored traditions we strive to bring you the best the Napa Valley has to offer.

We invite you to explore and savor the exceptional, limited-production wines from Round Pond Estate.

We believe that excellence is achieved through a seamless blend of Old World traditions and state-of-the-art innovation. We walk the vineyards and orchards daily and carefully tend to our grape vines and olive trees. All of our fruit is sustainably farmed and hand-harvested. And though our mill is equipped with the finest modern technology, we perform all of our blending and bottling by hand in order to ensure the highest levels of quality. By combining the best of the old with the best of the new, Round Pond strives to create modern classics.

In the marketplace, we stand behind every one of our artisan creations because guest service isn’t just an expression – it’s an ideal founded on building personal relationships, welcoming visitors, educating the inquisitive and creating an exceptional experience for all.

We produce Estate Olive Oil, Wine Vinegar and Syrup.

At Round Pond we understand that freshness is fundamental to making truly superior olive oil. That is why we constructed our very own olive oil mill. The truth is, the difference between everyday olive oil and oil freshly pressed in our mill is as obvious as the difference between orange juice from a carton and the vibrant flavor of fresh oranges squeezed into a waiting glass. Brought to the Round Pond Mill only minutes after being picked from our estate orchards, our fruit offers enticing aromatics and ripe, warm Mediterranean flavors.

In 2000, inspired by the bounty of our vineyards, we began crafting a gourmet wine vinegar using our own estate-grown grapes. Our goal was simple- to create a worthy culinary partner for our rich and robust line of olive oils. Crafted using the revered Orleans method, each wine vinegar continues the tradition of this time-honored technique, which originated almost two hundred years ago. From the finest grapes grown on our estate in Rutherford, California, we begin by creating a classic red and white wine. From there, we introduce a Mother Culture to initiate the transformation into vinegar. After ten months of patient barrel aging in French oak, we bottle individual lots by hand to create each delicious wine vinegar with rare depth and elegance.

Rutherford Hill Winery

(800) 726-5226

200 Rutherford Hill Road, Rutherford, CA 94573, USA

Founded in 1972, Rutherford Hill Winery is a pioneer in the development of California Merlot.

The grape growers who founded Rutherford Hill carefully studied the geography of the region and capitalized on climate and soil conditions that resembled those of Pomerol, the small but distinctive Merlot-growing region of Bordeaux. What a promising discovery that was – one that was borne plenty of fruit – specifically, the lush, purple-black grapes that have contributed so much to Rutherford Hill’s success. Today, Merlot remains the flagship wine of the company with 75 percent of Rutherford Hill’s production dedicated to this varietal, one of the leading Merlots of Napa Valley.

Sterling Vineyards

(800) 726-6136

1111 Dunaweal Lane, Calistoga, CA 94515, USA

Perched 300 feet above the town of Calistoga, Sterling Vineyards offers panoramic views of Napa Valley. An aerial tram carries visitors up the hill to the winery, whose architecture was modeled after that of the Greek island of Mykonos, where Sterling founder Peter Newton once lived. The brilliant white stucco stands out dramatically against the rugged Mayacamas and Vaca mountain ranges that flank each side of Napa Valley. Mount Saint Helena makes a lovely distant backdrop. The winery’s towers house eight bells from London’s Church of St. Dunstan’s-in-the-East, originally founded in the 10th century. The church was destroyed by fire in 1666, rebuilt, then destroyed again during the bombing of WWII. Each time, new bells were recast from the old metal to give them superior tonal quality. The rich tolling of these ancient bells sounds down through the valley on the quarter hour. Walkways, balconies, and motion-sensitive DVD screens allow guests to take a self-guided tour of Sterling Vineyards’ winemaking facilities. Beautiful outdoor terraces and elegant tasting rooms provide the perfect environment to enjoy exceptional wines while taking in the view. The extraordinary Mediterranean-style architecture, unique aerial tramway, stunning location, historic bells, and attention to visitors make Sterling Vineyards a top destination in Napa Valley.

The Sterling Vineyards winemaking team believes that our wines should express true varietal character. We craft each wine with this in mind, choosing gentle techniques tailored to bring out the aromas and flavors that each Napa grape variety develops in the terroir it likes best. The resulting wines have exceptional quality that shines anywhere, with intriguing complexity that brings out the best in a wide variety of cuisines.

As one of the landmark wineries of Napa Valley, Sterling Vineyards enjoys a rich heritage, including groundbreaking wine, diverse vineyards and a historical winery with stunning architecture. Sterling Vineyards is proud to be a certified Napa County Green Winery, a distinction achieved in 2009 and one of the first 12 wineries to be included. Additionally, the winemaking team believes that the wines should express true varietal character; the resulting wines have exceptional quality that shine anywhere. All of these qualities make it easy to see why Sterling Vineyards is one of the most visited wineries in Napa Valley.

Swanson Vineyards

(707) 754-4018

1271 Manley Ln, Napa, CA 94558, USA

Swanson Vineyards was founded in 1985 by W. Clarke and Elizabeth Swanson and is known for nationally distributing Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Alexis Cabernet Sauvignon – in addition, Swanson has long been producing limited production, tiny batch wines made from intriguing varietals. Our original wine facility was purchased in 1986, then renovated and expanded in 2000. Since then, we have been offering limited seated tastings in our Salon. The Swanson Vineyards’ Salon was modeled after a Parisian salon of the mid 1800’s, where handfuls of diverse and fascinating callers were graciously entertained with sinful libations. Inspired by old-fashioned ways of elegant living and conversation – we want each guest to feel as though they are coming to a party held in their honor.

Trefethen Family Vineyards

(707) 255-7700

1160 Oak Knoll Avenue, Napa, CA 94558, USA

For three generations, our family has devoted itself to wine made solely from the fruit of our estate vineyards in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. A characteristic brightness animates every bottle, reflecting both our cool climate and the joy with which we approach our work.

Enjoy a flight of our estate grown wines at our historic winery or sample exquisite culinary pairings in the former family home and you will experience the Napa Valley that wine lovers dream about.

We believe in place. To be truly great, a wine must be more than a lovely perfume and pleasant sensations rolling across your palate. It must connect you with a place. It must taste like somewhere.

We believe in people, without whom, wine would neither exist nor contain meaning. Wine comes from nature, but it does not emerge without a helping hand. And without a conscious mind to play across, its significance would be lost. The story of a wine, and the people who made it matter.

We believe in the grape, singular in its ability to translate place. Each of our wines exists to explore the expression of a variety on our estate, or the interplay of varieties in a blend. The cellar is a tool to bring out the true character of each grape. Our winemaking should amplify what our vineyard has to say.

Finally, we believe in learning. Perfection is a mirage, always on the horizon. There is only what we have done, and what we can do better. By building on the knowledge that we have acquired over the last fifty vintages, constantly playing with new techniques and ideas, we can bridge the worlds of tradition and innovation. Integrating what works for our grapes and our land while removing what is unnecessary, we continuously refine our craft.

Place, people, the grape, and always learning. With all of this in mind, we pursue an uncommon approach to winegrowing. Stubborn in our commitment to estate grown fruit, we focus our efforts on this specific place, farming our vineyards ourselves, with our own employees. Fortunate to call the Oak Knoll District home, we rejoice in growing a wide variety of grapes, which we treat with utmost respect, carefully measuring each decision in the cellar. Each vintage is a chapter in our perpetual quest for deeper understanding – of our soils, our vines, our climate, and our wines. When we succeed, our wines should seem effortless and our winemaking ethereal, a window into a memorable place and time.

Trefethen Family Vineyards provides the quintessential Napa Valley experience for your guests. From an intimate affair in our Villa or Villetta Patio to a celebration in our Historic Winery or Courtyards, our dedicated Special Events Team will take care of everything as you revel in our breathtaking estate views while enjoying exceptional Trefethen wines and culinary delights!
